Artist's Description

Pride of Baltimore II and Roald Amundsen at Anchor in Presque Isle Erie Pa. Pride of Baltimore II is a reproduction of a topsail schooner made famous in the War of 1812 as a privateer, a small warship built to raid commerce. This and other sailing vessels of this type were often referred to as "Baltimore Clippers". The first Pride of Baltimore was lost in the Caribbean Sea in 1986 with the loss of 3 crew and the captain. Roald Amundsen is a steel hulled two masted brig built in 1952. It carries a crew of 17 and serves as a sail training ship. She sails the world and is usually in the Baltic Sea.

About Robert Gardner

Robert Gardner

I live in a small town in Ohio. I love to photograph old things, barns, houses, buildings, and bridges. I have been known to drive 200 miles to photograph a covered bridge. Most of my photography is in the rural areas of Ohio where I have lived all of my life.
